Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seoul Botanic Garden

On our last full day in the country, we returned to the Gyeongbokgung Palace, as Caroline told us there was so much more to see. We decided against a guided tour, as all signs were in English. We took our time and wandered through the grounds to admire the ornate craftsmanship of the buildings.

We saw several young ladies doing photo shoots wearing hanbok, the traditional Korean clothing. We ate lunch in the museum restaurant, as we wanted one more serving of japchae and kimchi!

After lunch we ventured into the Seoul Botanic Gardens, which were located in the backyard of our hotel. Walking through the entrance felt like entering the tropics! We took off a few layers of clothing and meandered through the exhibits.

It was fun to see Christmas decorations still around. Courtney enjoyed playing "spot the Santa hat," and loved the hats on the cacti!
