Gyeongbokgung Palace

After another delicious breakfast at our hotel, we took Caroline's advice and hopped on the subway to Gyeongbokgung Palace. The Seoul subway is wonderfully clean and easy to navigate. Caroline shared an app to download that gave us perfect directions.  The train also announced stops in four languages, making it very easy for tourists like us.

We walked the palace grounds, and marveled at the juxtaposition of the ancient architecture with the backdrop of the "city of the future."  We then entered one of the two museums on site.

We saw a traveling exhibit that featured artifacts from the Liechtenstein royal family.

Of course, there were beautiful items from Korea's history throughout the museum! We really loved this Imperial clothing. So lovely!

In the evening, we explored the neighborhood around our hotel. The city is so clean and safe! Since we left the USA on Christmas Day, it was so nice to see lights, trees, and reindeer lining the streets!
