Tsūtenkaku Tower & Osaka Castle

We finally got to Tsūtenkaku tower, which was walking distance from our condo in Osaka. The skies were clear and the views lovely. We could see the top of the Golden Pavilion, which we plan to visit on our last day.

We had our photo taken with Billiken (god of things as they ought to be) and left wishes on his prayer wall. We almost took the stairs down, but it was hot in the stairwell so we heeded the warning on the sign, “the stairs are too long!!!”.

After visiting the gift shop (half price Pokémon items!), we had dinner near the tower, where we used a QR code to get the menu and place our order.

Then we went to the Osaka castle, which was closed, but we got beautiful photos of the castle and surrounding moat. It was quite a fortress, and a hike to get there. There were runners all around us training for a marathon. I'm not sure how they were running uphill in the heat, but they were!
